‘n Vrou met ‘n groot hart is Loretha van Dyk. Behalwe dat sy ‘n leerskool het wat kinders inneem wat nie in die hoofstroom aanpas nie, het sy ook ingesien dat hierdie kinders veel vinniger gehelp kan word as hulle ook die SmartBrain leesprogram volg. Inderhaas moes sy ‘n huis vir die kinders inrig.  Sommige van die klassies vind selfs buite in die tuin plaas, omdat daar nie genoeg klaskamers vir al die kinders is nie.

SmartBrain se leeslessies en studiekursusse word in die middag by die sentrum in Klerksdorp en in Potchefstroom aangebied.

Twee nuwe fasiliteerders was vroeg 2017 opgelei om haar hande te versterk. Aan die linkerkant is daar Priscilla wat haar moet help in Klerksdorp en aan die regterkant is daar Natasha, wat in haar finale jaar vir Grondslagfaseonderwys is, wat haar in Potchefstroom gaan bystaan.

Dit is met hartseer dat ons afskeid neem van een van SmartBrain se sentrum eienaresse, Judy van Niekerk, wat haar stryd teen kanker, teen die einde van 2016, verloor het.

As eienares van die SmartBrain Ellisras tak, het sy, vir vyf jaar in ‘n ry, as beste sentrum in die land, met die louere weggestap. Haar bemarking was so suksesvol, dat mense vanuit Botswana gery het om hul kinders na haar leessentrum te bring. Judy het ‘n passie vir kinders gehad en het SmartBrain, tot en met haar dood, met oorgawe aangebied.

Speelkasteel Pre-School staff members were all trained this year (2017) in the SmartBrain methodology.

Cecile Scholtz, Speelkasteel’s owner, incorporated SmartBrain’s Early Learning Programme for all the babies and toddlers in her care. They received SmartBrain’s language, maths and encyclopaedic flash cards on a daily basis.

She also invested into SmartBrain’s Grade R-beginners reading programme to give all the Grade R learners in her care that extra advantage when they go to Grade 1.

Her right hand man JP Weitz, who was trained at the end of 2016, also started a SmartBrain Reading and Learning centre next to the pre-school, where they intend to solve reading problems in older children, as well as helping them with powerful SmartBrain Learning and Memory Techniques.
